1. Statement of Intent

Monoliths Group Limited is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, subcontractors, clients, and members of the public affected by our activities.

We will:

– Provide safe working conditions and systems of work
– Prevent accidents and work-related ill health
– Meet or exceed legal health and safety requirements
– Provide training, supervision, and resources
– Continually improve our safety performance

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and stakeholders.

2. Organisation & Responsibilities

2.1 Directors

– Ensure compliance with health & safety law
– Allocate resources for safe working
– Review safety performance regularly
– Lead by example

2.2 Managers & Supervisors

– Carry out risk assessments
– Provide safe instructions and supervision
– Ensure PPE is used correctly
– Investigate incidents and near misses

2.3 Employees

– Follow safe systems of work
– Use equipment properly
– Wear PPE as required
– Report hazards immediately

2.4 Subcontractors

– Follow Monoliths Group site rules
– Provide method statements and risk assessments
– Maintain competent staff and equipment

3. Health & Safety Arrangements

3.1 Risk Assessments

We will identify hazards and implement controls using written risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

3.2 Training

We provide training including:

– Site induction
– Manual handling
– Working at height
– Machinery safety
– First aid awareness

3.3 Personal Protective Equipment

Where risks cannot be eliminated, suitable PPE will be provided and maintained.

3.4 Safe Plant & Equipment

We ensure:

– Equipment is inspected and maintained
– Operators are trained
– Faulty equipment is removed from use

3.5 Accident Reporting

All accidents, incidents, and near misses must be reported immediately.
Where required, reports will be made under Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).

3.6 Fire Safety

We will:

– Maintain fire risk assessments
– Provide fire equipment and training
– Keep emergency exits clear

3.7 Working at Height

We follow safe working procedures and comply with Work at Height Regulations 2005.

3.8 Hazardous Substances

We assess and control exposure under Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH).

3.9 Welfare Facilities

We provide appropriate:

– Toilets
– Drinking water
– Washing facilities
– Rest areas

4. Consultation with Employees

We consult employees on health & safety matters through meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

Employees are encouraged to raise concerns at any time.

5. Monitoring & Review

We monitor performance through:

– Site inspections
– Safety audits
– Incident investigations
– Training records

This policy will be reviewed annually or when significant changes occur.

6. Emergency Procedures

We maintain procedures for:

– Fire evacuation
– First aid response
– Major incident reporting

Emergency contacts will be displayed on all sites.
